## Description
As an entry level Software Engineer on the C-17 simulator program, carries out software development assignments which have a basic degree of complexity and limited latitude for independent action and decision. Performs assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard methods, tools, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Using prescribed methods, may perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work. May exercise limited judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. May provide guidance and direction to technicians and engineering specialists.

Education/
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathwith little or no related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Ability to proficiently code, test and debug in several higher order and assembly languages.
2. Knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
3. Mathematical modeling and algorithm development.
4. Personal computer skills. (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics).
5. Military Standard MIL-STD-498 (Software Development and Documentation).
6. Effective written and oral communication skills.
7. Demonstrated detail design skills.
8. Proficiently use computer based software tools such as; symbol dictionaries, symbolic debuggers, etc.
9. Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range intellectual and practical problems.
10. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism. (e.g., formulas, scientific equations, graphs)
11. Effective ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
