Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team.
This role will play a key part in managing and coordinating the financial activities of the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, accounts payable, financial statements, forecasting, cost accounting, and consolidations.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
1.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
2.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
3.
Oversee the accounts payable function including receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
4.
Coordinate the preparation of annual audits.
5.
Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
6.
Implement and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
7.
Manage the process of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the company.
8.
Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
9.
Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
10.
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
11.
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA or MBA required.
2.
Minimum of 3
years of experience in a similar role within the finance industry.
Experience in the multi-entity manufacturing industry would be a significant plus.
3.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and standards.
4.
Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
5.
Experience with creating financial statements and knowledge of posting entries.
6.
Strong understanding of cost accounting.
7.
Experience with consolidations and multi-entity accounting.
8.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
9.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
10.
Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
11.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
12.
Experience with various financial software systems and tools.
