53 an hour Summary Execute the statement of work within the food service contract under the direct supervision of the Food Service Assistant Manager.
Ensure the dining room meets all prescribed safety and sanitation requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Assistant Project Manager in carrying out the Performance Work Statement of the contract.
Understand and instill the performance work statement of the contract the employees.
Maintain effective working relationships with military personnel and other contractors.
Inspect work areas and food products to ensure contractual and other established Navy standards.
Verify work tasks.
Ensure dining room supervisory items are available according to prescribed meal hours.
Maintain all work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition.
Inspect all food items for quality and appearance prior to serving.
Report any inoperative equipment to the Kitchen Manager.
Ensure all Goodwill Industries and Navel policies and procedures are followed.
Assure that all supplies and food products are handled as prescribed by agency policies and good security practices.
Responsible for the overall preparation of all dining room's supervisory items and maintaining the cleanliness of all work areas.
Supervise daily work assignments of dishwashers, servers, housekeeper, and mess attendants.
Receive, answer and correct customer complaints and concerns.
Supervise the front-end operation to meet established standards.
This area includes dining room, dishwashing room, beverage bar and soup, salad bar area and all assigned housekeeping areas.
Duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager and by the shift Lead Cook.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises all assigned personnel.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and applicable laws.
Qualifications Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Perform basic mathematical calculations.
Must be able to apply independent judgment, make corrections of work tasks, and be able to provide solutions for work/task problems.
Must be able to think and react calmly to emergency and stressful situations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance as stipulated by the contract.
Within 90 days of employment must be able to obtain Servsafe certification.
Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience of five years food service operations or related supervisory experience.
Experience in working with disabled individuals preferred.
Experience in a military installation.
High school diploma, some college preferred.
Five (5) years' experience in volume food preparation.
Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to bend, stoop, and balance.
The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
